The Tropical Hainan Study Tour is a six-day journey down the eastern coast of China's island province — from the volcanic north to the rainforest south. In a single week students stand inside a dormant crater, walk the ground where China launches its Moon and Mars missions, learn to surf, snorkel above a living coral reef, and trace 800 years of Taoist and Confucian heritage.

The route runs Haikou → Wenchang → Wanning → Sanya, never doubling back. Each city contributes something the others cannot: Haikou brings the geology of the Leiqiong Global Geopark; Wenchang brings the space centre and the great coconut groves of Dongjiao; Wanning brings Riyue Bay, one of Asia's most reliable surf breaks; and Sanya closes the journey at Tianya Haijiao, the “edge of the sky,” and the canopy skywalk above Yalong Bay.

Because Hainan is tropical year-round, this programme runs when northern China is too cold for outdoor study. A ratio of one teacher per ten students, certified instructors for every water activity, and full-time bilingual support mean students are looked after from the moment they land at Haikou Meilan to the moment they fly home.
