From School 1.0 to School 2.0

As artificial intelligence reshapes how knowledge is produced and how people learn, a school's structure, curriculum logic, and leadership model must be rethought. School 2.0 is not about bringing technology into classrooms — it is about redesigning the school itself as a learning community.

Hosted within the China International Education Forum, this six-day executive residency combines six formats — expert lectures, case seminars, hands-on workshops, institution visits, principals' roundtables, and cultural excursions — to help education leaders turn insight into strategy.

Participants arrive with a live challenge from their own school and leave with a school-specific action plan, a leadership framework for the AI era, a certificate of completion, and a cross-regional network of principals and scholars. Cohort size is deliberately limited to preserve depth of engagement.

Days 1–3 · Keynotes, K-12 school visits & cultural context
Day 1
Arrival in Beijing · Welcome Ceremony
All DayArrival in Beijing — airport reception and hotel check-in, with a program briefing en route covering the six days ahead and safety guidance.
EveningWelcome dinner and opening ceremony. Participants form study groups and each submits one live challenge from their home school — the working material for the days to come.
From day one, every participant works on a real question from their own school — the thread that runs through the whole program.
Day 2
The School 2.0 Framework · Inside Beijing Schools
MorningKeynote: School 2.0 — Redesigning Education for the Age of AI. A shared leadership framework: from technology as a tool to the school redesigned — followed by an expert session on AI and hands-on intelligence in practice.
AfternoonBeijing school visits and exchange. Step inside leading K-12 schools — observe AI-integrated classes, student tech societies, and innovation programs, followed by a dialogue with the academic leadership team.
The final list of host schools is subject to confirmation. Each visit combines classroom observation with a leadership dialogue.

Cultural Beijing · On to Hangzhou
MorningCultural excursion: the Mutianyu Great Wall or the Forbidden City. A field perspective on the cultural foundations of Chinese education — essential context for international educators.
AfternoonHigh-speed rail to Hangzhou (approx. 4.5–6 hours); arrival and hotel check-in. Mid-program consolidation en route: three key takeaways and one open question.

West Lake · An Afternoon at Your Own Pace
MorningWest Lake excursion. A guided walk through the UNESCO World Heritage landscape — Su Causeway, lake views, and the literati aesthetics that shaped a thousand years of Chinese learning.
AfternoonFree time. Explore Hangzhou at your own pace — tea plantations, old-town streets, or museum visits; the program team provides recommendations and on-call support.
A deliberate pause in the program — time to reflect, consolidate notes, and prepare for the closing presentations on Day 6.
Day 6
Completion — Take the Plan Home
MorningClosing ceremony. Certificates are awarded and each group presents its workshop outcome for peer review.
AfternoonAirport transfer. The program ends; the work begins.
